Dear Friends I’ve discovered a captivating city where all things beautiful, romantic and creative somehow came together to create a wondrous place for human senses.
Picturesque and romantic, Paris, France is truly a vast work of art. Bathed in blue waters of the Seine River and warmed by gleaming sunshine it stands as a tribute to incredible toils. Built with wood, stone, brick and mortar and a generous amount of blood, sweat and tears over hundreds of years, it’s a splendid example of what humans can accomplish.
Completing the vast work of Parisian art are the people. They are the essence of Paris who fill the city with life, love and romance with each and every kiss on the cheek, every embrace, and every passionate Tango on the bank of the Seine River. The citizens of Paris live life so eloquently. Simple pleasures come naturally to them. Acres of city gardens and kilometers of city streets are filled with people reading newspapers or books, playing games, soaking up the sun’s rays, talking or simply touching in some tender fashion.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of outdoor cafés adorn the sidewalks of Paris. Staffed by efficient waiters dressed in clean white shirts and black aprons the cafés and patisseries are filled with hungry and thirsty Parisians. The welcoming fragrance of fresh coffee and warm croissants drift out through the open café doors. Patrons talk quietly amidst sounds of busyness and watch people pass by on the rue. In moments of quiet one can hear the gentle sound of a spoon clinking a small espresso cup.
Beautiful buildings, picturesque small streets, lavish gardens and the lovely people of Paris all go together like fine wine and food. So yes, there is a place in this world where all things romantic, beautiful and creative came me together to form a wondrous place for all the human senses. The city of Paris serves as a beautiful backdrop for Street Photography and is a treat for one’s creative and romantic soul.
Henri Cartier-Bresson said “It is an illusion that photos are made with a camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head.” This collection of images is a view of Paris through my eye, heart and head. I’m very proud of these images and delighted to share them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
